13.82 Mya: Neogene, Miocene, Serravaillan: Warmer climate during Middle Miocene.


12 Mya: About this time there was a massive, explosive volcanic eruption on the border of what is now Argentina and Bolivia. Cerro Panizos of the Altiplano Puna volcanic complex.

11.830 Mya: About this time a massive, explosive volcanic eruption occurred at what is now the Bruneau/Jarbridge, Yellowstone hotspot in Idaho, USA. It was responsible for the Ashfall Fossil Beds 1,600 km to the east.
